The X5 made its debut in 1999 and was the first 4×4 that BMW had produced and quickly became a frontrunner in the luxury car market. The current, 3rd generation X5 has been produced since 2013 and is available with a variety of engines, ranging from 3L petrol and turbocharged diesel engines, to the beasty 4.4L V8 in the range topping X5 M.
